Steve's teams won the VFFL championship in his first two years in the league and he made the playoffs in his third. In 1999, Beuerlein took over for a disappointing Mark Brunell for the Tornados and single handedly carried the team to the championship. In 2000, Steve found himself starting for a 69'ers team that sat Jeff Garcia on the bench all year in favor of the Hall of Famer. The 2001 season found Beuerlein injured all year, but he still made the playoffs as an emergency player for the Long Rifles. His run of making the playoffs each year ended at four in 2002, when he was picked up by the Canton Legends and he failed to make the playoffs for the first time. Showing just a little more magic, however, the Legends did win the T.O.I.L.E.T. Bowl.
